DeWitt Family

George Dow DeWitt (7/4/1855 – 7/22/1932), his wife Lenoir C. (London) (5/1862 – aft. 1930), and their son Raymond Osee DeWitt (8/1881 – 5/25/1937).

George Dow DeWitt was born in Brooklyn, Susquehanna County, PA, the son of Issac M. and Lucy Evaline (Spencer) DeWitt.

Dow’s younger brother Osee Dan DeWitt (6/9/1858 – 3/13/1939) was my great-grandfather.

In 1880, Dow was a farmer in Lemon Township by 1900 the family moved to Tunkhannock, PA, where he remained a farmer.

Dow and Nora are buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock, PA.

Tunkhannock 1900 census indicates Dow Dewitt, age 44; wife Lenor, age 38; and son Raymond, age 18. They still reside in Tunkhannock in 1920, with the head of the family listed as G. Dow Dewitt, wife Lenoir and Raymond’s still at home.
