Our September 2014 Pennsylvania Genealogy Trip
The Delaware Water Gap is in Monroe County.
The Delaware Water Gap Pennsylvania Welcome Center is one of the best we have stopped at. The woman at the counter was very knowledgeable regarding the local history and cemeteries. When she told us about the Water Gap Trolley we agreed it was a must see.
The next morning we made our way to the Water Gap Trolley Station. We hopped aboard the trolley, made our selves comfortable and felt like we had gone back thru time.
As our trolley made its way through the beautiful landscape, our fantastic tour guide told us about the Appalachian Trail, the Historic Shawnee Church and Cemetery, Indian Head, Castle Inn, and much more.
Our favorite stop was overlooking the Delaware River as we took pictures of Indian Head.
If you’re going to the area I recommend this as your first stop. Besides being a lot of fun, it will give you an overall view of everything there is to do and see here.
The book the “Delaware Water Gap ~ Then and Now~”
