DILLER, Marion B., 1915 – 1923Marion was born Aug. 26, 1915, and died Mar. 11, 1923 in Scranton, PA from a ruptured appendix. Dr. Diller (her father) diagnosed her problem and carried her to a hospital in Scranton, PA. Dr. Diller insisted that the operation be performed that evening, but the hospital staff talked him into waiting until morning. During the night, her appendix ruptured and took her life. There was no penicillin in those days. |
